ECO Start-Stop Module by MWMods is a software-based memory upgrade for compatible Mercedes-Benz and Mercedes-AMG vehicles equipped with the factory ECO Start/Stop system. On many supported Mercedes models, ECO Start/Stop is automatically enabled again every time the engine is started, even if the driver switched the function off during the previous journey. The MWMods module changes this behavior by allowing the vehicle to remember the last selected ECO Start/Stop state. If the system was turned off before the vehicle was switched off, it can remain disabled after the next start until the driver chooses to activate it again.
The MWMods ECO Start-Stop Module is designed for drivers who prefer not to disable the factory start-stop system manually after every engine restart. Once the memory function is activated, the vehicle can retain the previous ECO Start/Stop selection instead of automatically returning to the factory default state.
This means that if ECO Start/Stop was disabled at the end of the last journey, the supported Mercedes can start again with the function still switched off. The original ECO Start/Stop button remains fully usable, so the driver can enable or disable the system normally whenever required. The modification does not remove the factory function or permanently disable it; it changes how the vehicle remembers the driver’s last selection.
For owners who frequently turn off automatic engine stop/start during city driving, short trips, or everyday use, this provides a more convenient way to keep a preferred setting without repeating the same button press after every restart.
The ECO Start-Stop memory function is activated using the MWMods hand-held module through the vehicle’s OBD2 diagnostic port. The programming device is only required when activating or deactivating the modification and does not need to remain connected during normal driving.
The module also includes a Factory Settings option, allowing the supported vehicle configuration to be returned to its original behavior when required. After activation, the factory ECO Start/Stop system continues to operate normally through the existing vehicle controls; the difference is that the system can remember its previously selected state.
